If someone hits you that does not have insurance, what happens to you? Depending on what coverage you have on your car… If you have comp and collision on your insurance policy, you will have to pay the collision deductible. Then the company will pay the difference. Then the company will go after the other person to try to get your deductible back.
Also, you have uninsured and underinsured motorist. This also depends on the limits that you take on uninsured and underinsured. But uninsured, if someone hits you with no insurance, they have no insurance, and you have medical bills, your uninsured motorist will pay whatever limits you have. The state minimums are 25,000, 50,000. I don’t recommend that.
For uninsured, underinsured, it’s very minimal cost for that. Then, underinsured, say you have 100/300 limits and the person that hits you has 25/50, your insurance policy will pay the difference between the 25 up to the 100 on medical bills.
